The Pre-kinder experience is one uniquely designed to prepare young children for elementary school. Emphasis is placed on learning to socialize and work with others, developing independence in work and play, and adapting to a bilingual classroom. The early childhood teacher instructs in a bilingual setting to help provide the first foundational year of English. The students’ growth in English usage after one year is quite remarkable. Upon entering kindergarten, class is conducted completely in English.
Currently, IAS has one class per grade level. Next year will be the first year for IAS to offer two Pre-Kinder classes. We are excited about what this expansion will mean for our school. One class will be offered in the morning, the other in the afternoon.
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Electives: Each grade receives weekly elective classes including: Art, Drama, Computer, and P.E.
Class size: Classes are capped at 15 students. Most classes have between 12-15 students.
